Based out of Warrensburg, the nationally renowned Nettle Meadow & The Kemp Sanctuary creates a variety of award-winning artisan cheese, primarily with goat and sheep milk. Their second location in Lake Luzerne is inside The Old Hitching Post, a former dining hall for local dude ranches.

This Lake Luzerne location is home to a retail store, a cheese plant, and now, The Hitching Post Tavern, a rustic restaurant with an ever-expanding menu. The menu includes cheese plates highlighting Nettle Meadow's handcrafted cheeses, hot sandwiches, lunch and dinner specials, and a wide selection of American craft beers, wines, and hard ciders. You'll even find menu items that were originally served at The Old Hitching Post from the 1940s-1960s.
