Birches Cottage
Birches is a 5-bedroom (plus 4 sleep lofts & rec room with a sofabed, sleep loft, & bath) and 6 1/2 bathroom historic property originally built in 1912 and completely renovated in 2005. It is located on the former Lake Placid Club grounds and was part of a compound used to house European royalty prior to World War I.
Birches is one block from Mirror Lake and five blocks from the center of the Village. It has awesome views of the Adirondack High Peaks, as well as the Olympic ski jumps, bobsled runs and Lake Placid golf courses. Birches sits on one acre of wooded property and has a large first-floor porch with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the mountain scenery. Each one of the guest rooms has Tempur-Pedic mattresses for a fabulous rest, as well as reading porches, including two that are suitable for outdoor sleeping for the adventurous.
Birches also has a seven-person hot tub with views of the High Peaks, as well as a recreation room with ping-pong table and cable TV and large family room with stone fireplace, game table, French doors and numerous windows. A large kitchen with breakfast bar and dining room with window seats adjoins the family room and is excellent for entertainment for large groups.
