Rice Furniture was established in 1946 by George Carver Rice who came to the area in the early 40’s as a mattress salesman. The store which remains in its original location is one of the oldest and most well established businesses in the Adirondacks. It was taken over in the 1960’s by Carver’s son Bob and is currently owned and operated by his daughters Barbara and Suzanne and their husbands Chad McCarthy and Clyde Baker.
