In 2015, The National American Massage Therapy Association awarded Sullivan the National Humanitarian of the year through his many efforts working with individuals and various community organizations. 

Claire Santerre, the Northern New York Chairperson for the New York Chapter, nominated him for the award. The award was announced at the National Convention in Pittsburgh with the inscriptions – National Humanitarian Award, Dan Sullivan, New York Chapter, In Recognition of your Leadership – Dedication – Commitment in Service to the Community, “Work is love made visible, August 20, 2015. He is the first massage therapist from New York State to be awarded since inception in 1996.  Only one award is given per year.
