Tony Harper's Pizza & Clam Shack
Tony Harpers
How We Started
Tony Harper's started in 1992 at their original location in the Hamilton county hamlet of Raquette Lake, nestled in the Adirondack Mountains. Prior to the opening of the restaurant, the Legere Family rented a camp on Tony Harper's property for many years. The property was purchased by Leo Legere after Tony's death in 1972. Leo opened a pizza and sub restaurant in Tony's roadside shack (which served as his lifelong home) and named it Tony Harper's Pizza & Subs.
Lisa Murphy, Leo's daughter, took over the Raquette Lake restaurant in 2001 rebranding it as Tony Harper's Pizza & Clam Shack. She renovated the building, enclosed the porch to create a dining room and added a roadside Tiki Bar that still operates today as a seasonal business.
